Policies & Compliance

Terms of Use for Matheson

The ground rules for using our site, courses, and community.

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of mathesondifference.com and the Matheson Professional Center member portal, operated by Matheson Education and Training Solutions, LLC ("Matheson," "we," "us"). By creating an account, purchasing a course, or otherwise using the site, you agree to these terms.

If you purchase the Matheson Intelligence Suite software or an annual/mentorship membership, the Subscription Agreement you accept at checkout also applies and governs where it's more specific than this page.

Who This Is For

Our courses, certifications, and software are intended for licensed and practicing healthcare, rehabilitation, and occupational health professionals, and for organizations that employ or train them. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

The information you give us (name, contact info, professional details) must be accurate, and you're responsible for keeping it current.

Don't share your account or let someone else use your login to access purchased courses or software.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including shared logins, fraud, or abusive behavior toward staff or other members.

Purchases & Payment

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at any time, including for pricing or listing errors, suspected fraud, or unauthorized or duplicate transactions. If we cancel an order after you've been charged, we'll refund the payment.

Course, certification, and membership pricing is shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. Our full payment, cancellation, and refund terms are covered in our Cancellation Policy, which is part of these Terms.

Courses & Certifications

Completing a course or certification track means you've met Matheson's internal requirements for that credential. It doesn't guarantee employment, licensure, insurance panel approval, or any other outcome: those depend on the requirements of your employer, state board, or other third parties, which are outside our control.

CEU approval status (such as AOTA or BOC approval) applies to the specific courses we designate as approved at the time you take them. Continuing education requirements vary by state and profession, and it's your responsibility to confirm a course meets your specific requirements before purchasing.

Member Community

The community forum is for professional discussion between Matheson-trained members. When you use it:

Don't post any client, patient, or case information that could identify a real person (no PHI).

Be professional: no harassment, spam, or content unrelated to clinical practice and professional development.

You can post a question anonymously, but replies and comments are always attributed to your name.

Admins can remove posts or comments that violate these guidelines, and may edit or remove content containing PHI or other inappropriate material without notice.

You own what you post, but by posting you give Matheson a license to display, store, and moderate that content as part of operating the forum.

Intellectual Property

Course materials, videos, assessments, software, and site content are owned by Matheson or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright. Purchasing a course or certification gives you a personal license to use that material for your own professional development; it doesn't give you the right to record, redistribute, resell, or use our materials to train others without our written permission.

If you believe content posted by another member (such as in the community forum) infringes your copyright, contact us using the info below and we'll review and remove it if warranted.

Prohibited Uses

Scraping, automated data collection, or reverse-engineering the site or software

Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your professional credentials

Reselling or sharing access to purchased courses, certifications, or software

Uploading anything unlawful, infringing, or that violates someone else's privacy

Accessibility

We're committed to making the site usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. If you run into an accessibility barrier or need help accessing any content, contact us using the info below and we'll work with you to resolve it.

Third-Party Services

The site relies on third-party services to operate, including Stripe for payments, LearnWorlds for course delivery, Supabase for account infrastructure, and others described in our Privacy Policy. We aren't responsible for outages or issues caused by those providers, though we'll work to resolve them.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is." We don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we don't guarantee that any course or certification will meet your specific professional, legal, or employment requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Matheson's total liability arising from your use of the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost income or business opportunities.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Matheson, its officers, employees, and contractors harmless from any claim, liability, damages, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the site, or content you post.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in full effect.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any Subscription Agreement you accept at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and Matheson regarding your use of the site.

Changes to These Terms

We'll update the date below when we make changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
